L’ Association Française d’Arbitrage a tenu sa manifestation annuelle le 19 septembre 2018 à l’Hôtel des Arts et Métiers à Paris. Son Président Marc Henry, qui a fait de l’ouverture de l’ AFA au marché de l’Afrique francophone une priorité depuis son élection, était particulièrement heureux de recevoir Madame Marie-Andrée Ngwé, éminente professionnelle à la fois arbitre, médiateur, avocat au Barreau du Cameroun et Présidente du Comité permanent du Centre d’arbitrage du GICAM. AFA conducts a new extensive training session which will take place over 2 days, on June 18th and 19th, 2018 at Maison du Barreau in Paris. This formation, around a practical case, will allow participants to discover all essential tools necessary to conduct an international arbitration successfully. More information

The Program of the eighth Session of the International Academy for Arbitration Law (Arbitration Academy), which will run from July 2, 2018 through July 20, 2018, has been released recently. The Arbitration Academy online application for 2018 admissions is now available through the Arbitration Academy’s website. Applicants will be notified of the decision regarding their application by March 30, 2018. More information

The AFA offers putting into practice, in a role-playing presentation, the rules governing the cross-examination. Marie Danis (August & Debouzy), Caroline Duclercq (Altana), members of the Paris Bar, and Peter Rosher (Reed Smith), member of the Bar of England and Wales and Paris Bar, will conduct this training with the participation of Juliette Fortin and Matthias Cazier-Darmois, experts (FTI Consulting) on January 29th, 2018 from 7 pm till 10 pm at the Maison du Barreau in Paris.
